Jason Elam Retiring as a Bronco Could Mean More than Meets the Eye

It’s always nice to see the NFL actually doing something right.

It all started, although could have gone further, with the changes to the overtime rules at the owners’ meetings not too long ago. Denver Broncos extend first-round tender to receiver Brandon Marshall

It appears that the Denver Broncos are willing to part ways with wide receiver Brandon Marshall after tendering him with a first-round tender instead of a first and third-round tender on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Elvis Dumervil won’t be going anywhere as the Broncos tendered the linebacker with a first and third-round tender. The additional third-round tender means that Dumervil — who had 17 sacks last season — carries a $3.168 million price tag.

Submitted by admin on January 20, 2010 – 8:10pm

NFL players have gone after the aid of congress to prevent the NFL owners from inflicting a lockout after next season. The players are hoping lawmakers in Washington D.C. can help overturn a possible victory in the Supreme Court antitrust case which would affect free agency amongst other things like ticket prices.

“We want Congress to know that management is pushing us toward a lockout,” said Tennessee Titans center Kevin Mawae who is also the union president and part of the 30 current and former players who were on Capitol Hill to discuss the issue.
