Buffalo Bills fans are excited that their NFL team signed wide receiver Terrell Owens, because he makes their team relevant and gives them an edge to compete in their division and also this season in the NFL.
Bills owner Ralph Wilson acknowledged to the Associated Press that part of signing Owens had to do with the relevance factor.
“I said, ‘Sign him,” Wilson told AP. “In Buffalo, we haven’t had a national figure publicity-wise since [Jim] Kelly.”

According to Profootballtalk.com, former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones’ agent claims he has spoken with four NFL teams on behalf of player who was a first round draft pick by Jacksonville in 2005.
Though Jones was on pace for a 1,000-yard receiving season last year, his three-game suspension did not allow for that to happen.

The Cincinnati Bengals finished off last season with three wins in a row after putting up some of the worst offensive numbers in the league. The stripes only had 11 passing touchdowns the entire season and were ranked 32nd in total yards—so there really is nowhere to go but up.
Especially since the Bengals had one of the better drafts this year, Carson Palmer is presumed healthy after trying to play through injuries the past few seasons and head coach Marvin Lewis may have only one year left before the cheap ownership that has left him in charge gives him the boot.

The second installment of the Brett Favre saga has come to a close.
Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress said on Tuesday that Favre will indeed stay retired rather than join the team.
“I just got off the phone with Brad, and Brett said he’s staying retired,” defensive end Jared Allen told FOX’s Jay Glazer. “He said he couldn’t deal with the daily grind. He said he felt like he let us down before it got started.

Just like his indecision whether to return to the NFL next season and suit up with the Minnesota Vikings, quarterback Brett Favre has taken that same approach in his latest work with Sears, agonizing over his purchase of a television set.
Favre is an advertising nugget, he has done numerous commercials on television, but none has made jabs at his current status; indecision whether to return to the NFL.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated quarterback Michael Vick who could play in a 2009 NFL regular season game as early as October, but which NFL teams will make the move to sign the quarterback.
With the reinstatement, a partial one, Vick can participate in preseason practices, meeting and workouts. He can also play in the last two preseason games. All this will depend on him finding a team that will sign him. A number of teams like the New York Giants and New York Jets had mentioned they were not interested in Vick.
