When the Denver Broncos lost Kenny McKinley earlier this season, no one could fathom what made the young receiver want to take his own life.
Confusion surrounds the death as teammate’s, coaches and friends continue to come forward and state what a clown, and fun loving man McKinley was. A fifth round draft pick for Denver in 2009, McKinley was supposed to be one of the young receivers that can fill the void at wideout after veterans Brandon Marshall and Brandon Stokley left the team during the offseason.

The effect that football has on players’ bodies has long been debated and studied, and with new research the findings continue to get dramatically worse for the health of retired players and likewise, increasingly scary for current players.

Once again the search begins at the University of Colorado. On Wednesday, Wake Forest officially introduced their new head coach, Jeff Bzdelik, former CU head men’s basketball coach.
Now that Bzdelik has moved on to what he described as his “dream job”, CU athletic director Mike Bohn is now left with the job of conducting another search to replace a head coach in the athletics department. Just Monday, CU introduced Linda Lappe as the new women’s head basketball coach, 14 days after Kathy McConnell-Miller was fired after five seasons.

Please. Please. Please, don’t trade Donavan McNabb to the Oakland Raiders.
I don’t hold this extreme position because I’m an Eagles fan. And judging from the Philly fans I know, that wouldn’t make a difference considering they all want to chase him out of town like a scene out of a black-and-white 1950’s monster movie.

It’s always nice to see the NFL actually doing something right.
It all started, although could have gone further, with the changes to the overtime rules at the owners’ meetings not too long ago. Now, the Denver Broncos, who have been less than impressive when it comes to player relations the past few years, decided they would have Jason Elam retire as a Bronco.
