JOCKlife.com has learned exclusively that free agent wide receiver Antonio Bryant has agreed to a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to a league source, it is believed to be a four-year deal.
Bryant made a visit to Cincinnati on Tuesday, but ultimately left before completing a deal with the team. It had been reported that the Washington Redskins and the Miami Dolphins were interested in acquiring Bryant as well.
Bryant had career highs with 83 catches for 1,248 yards and seven touchdowns in 2008 with Tampa Bay. He needed surgery for torn cartilage in his left knee during training camp last year, and was bothered by pain in the knee all season. He finished with 39 catches for 600 yards and four touchdowns.
With Bryant now completely healthy, the Bengals should have a dominant passing game with Carson Palmer throwing to Bryant and Chad Ochocinco. The Bengals went 10-6 and won the AFC North last season by relying on their defense and running game. They lost to the New York Jets in their first playoff game since 2005, struggling to move the ball.
